Just a few updates... 

♪ Lesson Times

With the school year starting very soon, I would like to start confirming lesson times!

I will be available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for lessons. Please confirm ASAP if you are planning to keep your current time or need to switch to a different day.

Since the first week of school is busy, let me know if you would like to skip lessons the first week. :)

♪ Payments

If you were paying per lesson for the summer, that will continue through the end of August. 

♪ Summer Challenge 

The Summer Piano Challenge is still on through August 31st. Some of you are doing really great and have even come up with your own challenges!

I can't believe it's already time for summer vacation! 

Summer lesson schedule begins June 1st and goes through August 31st. I can keep your current day/time as is, or if you would like to change it an earlier time or switch days, or even do lessons every other week, please let me know in the next couple weeks. 

Also starting June 1st I will switch to a "per lesson" rate instead of one monthly rate. However, you can still pay the normal amount for month, and I will apply it for the next four lessons whether or not they are consecutive. 

Please let me know if you have any questions, and we can work to find a lesson schedule that fits with your summer plans. :) 

And now for the practice points....

I will tally up the points at the end of May and the student who practiced the most since January will receive a prize in the first two weeks of June! There's still two weeks left until the end of the contest, so keep up the practicing!   

And last but not least...

This summer vacation, I will be holding a Summer Piano Challenge! I have made a list of some fun and creative music related activities for all my students to accomplish over summer break. They are totally optional and the student can choose which ones they want to do, and many of them can be done more than once. Not all of them require a piano, which is great for travel! 

I will post the list in the next week or so on the home page of my website with all of the details. But basically, the idea is for each challenge they complete, they will earn points. So, the student who completes the most challenges will win a prize such as a gift card for their favorite store, restaurant or movie theater!

Good Morning :)

I can't believe its halfway through October already! Which means we need to start preparing for the upcoming recital in December.

I would like each student to prepare 2 songs, one Christmas song and one non-Christmas song. They don't need to memorized, and their non-Christmas song can come from their books. I would like everyone's songs to picked by the end of October, so you have plenty of time to practice them before December. :)

As far as day/time for the recital, here are the possible dates: Saturday, December 12th at 4pm,  Sunday December 13th at 3pm, or Sunday December 20th at 4pm. I don't know how Friday evenings would work for you all, but we could also do Friday December 18th as well. Please let me know which of these days will work the best for you. I will try and find the day/time that will work the best for everyone. The start time can be moved forward or backwards if needed.

As far as location for the recital, currently it will be held at my house. However, since I have gained a few students since last year I might be in need of some extra chairs. Depending on the number of people, we might have to open up the sliding glass doors, and place some chairs outside on the pool deck (which is screened in, so hopefully no bugs). So, as we near the recital date, I will need a count of how many people per family will be attending. Due to space, immediate household family only please. You are more than welcome to take picture and video. :)

After the recital, I will have some snacks/drinks for everyone. If you would like to, please feel free to bring a dish to share! :)
